Eriobotrya or Loquat is generally grown in this country for its lush foliage rather than for its edible fruits.
The leaves of the loquat can grow up to to 2 feet long in the correct conditions which make this tree essential if a tropical look is required!
Sun or partial shade is fine but the more shade the longer and deeper green the foliage!
Hardy down to -10 degrees centigrade the Loquat can reach heights of 15 feet if left unchecked. Similarly it can spread to 10 feet across but is easily pruned back hard in spring height and width ways to accommodate the space you have allocated.
